Max Lucado's eschatology is whacked! We are not living in the last days. The "last days" referred to the end of the old (Mosaic) covenant, which ended with the destruction of the temple in AD70. We are NOT living in the last days. The great tribulation was fulfilled in AD67-70. Fulfilled. Now true believers are in the new covenant. Lucado is reading someone else's mail! It clearly states that it's addressed to the first century churches of Thessaloniki and Corinth. Just read the book without adding your name to it. The letters were NOT written to you or me in the 21st century.

We've got many from one major religion warning - rapture is imminent. And many from another worldwide religion based in Jerusalem declaring - messiah will arrive any day now.
